"...he who will come thither and take a longe bowe in his hand, and fairest draweth, clensiest delivreth and fartherst of grounde shootithe, shall have for the best Game a Crowne of golde."
"Proclamacon for Shootinge in Ffynnesburye Ffelde, by the Maier, Guildhall, 1557

Welcome!
We welcome you to visit our encampment and witness the daily events surrounding The Guild of the Fraternity of St. George. See our Captains and Sargeants of the Artillery Garden train the "Society of Citizens Practicing Arms". Watch us as we plan for war, march and drill, eat, sleep, fight and search for new recruits ..all aspects of a military camp from late 16th century in plain view. Witness what life in a military camp is like. If you find us, be prepared. Anything is possible. We are always looking for new recruits. Your whining will end as you are called upon to serve your Queen!

We are in a good state of defense, we shall prevail from any hostile threats!

This Dutch map may have been drafted by supporters of the Spanish crown, to aide in an invasion of our shores.

How dost thou recognize thy enemy?
As our kingdom prepares for a possible Spanish invasion, many captains and trained bands are preparing our garrisons on the coast. They may have already have landed on our shores. We must learn to identify the enemy. His dress is highly suspicious as is his manner and odor. Do not forget your sworn oath!

Well-mannered righteous
English soldiers

A suspicious-minded Spanish soldier. Take note, the Spanish soldier retains qualities of the meaner sort. He is a master of trickery.
